Seance at Queen Vic Market
A spine-tingling, supernatural theatre performance will pop up at Queen Victoria Market from 11 July until 28 July. Housed in a pitch-black, 40-foot shipping container, Séance combines the concept of a traditional séance with 3D audio and sensory deprivation.
Presented by Melbourne-based producers Realscape Productions, the chilling experience is the brainchild of UK-based theatre masterminds, Glen Neath and David Rosenberg of Darkfield.
For 20 intense minutes, Séance is a thrilling sonic performance, plunging audiences into complete darkness so they can focus solely on their other senses, which guarantees a truly personal and unique experience.
“We’ve had many different responses to Séance. Some people find the darkness soothing, whilst for others, it is terrifying. Some people have even tried to escape,” says Glen Neath, Darkfield.
Séance will run on Wednesdays during the Winter Night Market and on Saturdays, until 29 August.
Melburnians are advised to book ahead following rave reviews and sell-out seasons at Edinburgh, Adelaide and Perth Fringe Festivals, and at Melbourne’s premiere at Federation Square in October 2017.

Duration: 20-minute sessions
Where: Queen Victoria Market car park, off Peel Street, Melbourne
