Clear your calendars because May is a huge month for events at Queen Vic Market. We’ve got everything from the relaunch of our Queen Street Plaza to our pop-up zero-waste workshops, the Street Food Vietnam book launch, Good Beer Week and so much more!

Europa Night Market
Wednesdays until May 8, 5pm–10pm
The Europa Night Market brings your favourite European street eats to Melbourne’s most iconic sheds for one more time only. Sink your teeth into everything from Portuguese barbecue to Belgian frites, Irish Guinness wings and so much more. With over 40 food and retail stalls, plus live entertainment, Euro-inspired bars and a silent disco – make sure this one is in the calendar.

Melbourne Book Market
Every Sunday until August 25
Brought to you by the organisers of the former Federation Square Book Market, the Melbourne Book Market is a curated collection of more than 5000 new and pre-loved titles. Peruse literature, history, gardening, travel, art and kids’ books plus a selection of quality second-hand vinyl records and CDs.

Queen Street Plaza
Sundays until June 30, excluding event days
Right in the heart of the Market on Queen Street, you’ll find a sea of umbrellas and the beautiful sounds of music. Enjoy a rotating line-up of street food including Drums Sri Lankan cuisine, Canadian hot dogs and porchetta rolls. Great music and delicious food makes for a perfect family day out.

Palette of Painters
Thursdays in May, 9am–­11am
The Palette of Painters is a group of award-winning artists and members of the Victorian Artist Society (VAS) who have painted together for companionship and their love of art since the 1970s. This May, the group will take on the challenge to paint ‘en plein air’, amongst the Market sheds, stallholders, buskers and shoppers.


Street Food Vietnam Book Launch
Tuesday 7 May, 6.30pm–8.30pm
Jerry Mai, author, chef and owner of Annam restaurant, visits the Market for the launch of her new book Street Food Vietnam. Come along to enjoy wonderful tastes, a cold beer and an intimate chat with Jerry.

Good Beer Week A Fresh Hop Experience
Monday 13 May, 6pm
As part of Good Beer Week 2019, enjoy an evening of fire, food, friends and fresh hopped beer by Brick Lane. Hosting a feast for the senses, Shane Delia will be cooking up a fantastic array of fine produce on open fiery coals.

Pop-Up Booth: Zero Waste Victoria
Tuesday 14 May, 9am–2pm
The Market partners with Zero Waste Victoria to offer free, informative workshops on sustainable living. With two 40-minute workshops on offer, learn practical tips which will enable you to cut down on plastic, kitchen waste and rubbish to help the environment – and your bank account!

Basket by the Door Book Launch
Wednesday 15 May, 6.30pm–8.30pm
Join Sophie Hansen, author of a Basket by the Door for her highly-anticipated book launch at the Market. A reminder of what is best about our local communities and friends.

Tread Lightly by Ruth Maddison
Wednesday 15 May, 6pm–9pm
Check out Ruth Maddison’s photographic exhibition at Zo Damage and enjoy Young Henrys brews and ReWine wines as you make your way through the beautiful collection.
