The Desert: Faces and Places of Australia’s Western Desert

Our very own See the Sound is proud to host an insightful exhibition by drummer Matthew Cotter. Matthew is heading south for a line-up of shows with his band Even, celebrating the release of their seventh studio album Satin Returns. Come check out the collection of paintings and drawings, which are an aesthetic response to interesting aspects of life with the Pintupi in Australia’s Western Dessert.
Hawker 88 Night Market
Wednesdays from 5pm-10pm, Until 24 October
Yep, just when you thought you’d have to wait until summer for our next night market, we’ve pulled another one out of the hat. Introducing Hawker 88, where you’ll be transported to the streets of Asia to feast on authentic street food from across the continent. Enjoy tastes from 20 different food stalls and lap up the entertainment. There’ll even be an eating comp!

ASEAN Day is a cultural celebration of the 10 countries represented in the economic south East Asia bloc – Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Join us for a beautiful day of cultural performances, tasty food and an opportunity to showcase many of our Melbourne communities.

Love cheese? Then this one’s for you. Enjoy a week of cheese and wine at Queen Vic. From goat to Gouda, Camembert to cheddar, raclette to Roquefort; we’re celebrating all things fromage. Sample some of Victoria’s best hard, soft, blue, white, fresh and aged rinds from Market traders and local producers. There’ll also be a stack of cooking demos, music and some tasty hot food available from a long list of pop-ups.

The Mosaic Festival is back for the fourth time and this time it’s bigger and better than ever, featuring traditional live music and dance, a cultural costumes display, delicious international cuisine, art and crafts from around the world and heaps more.
