Holey Cheese Festival

Holey Cheese Festival

Cheese devotees get excited, the Holey Cheese Festival is returning to Queen Vic Market for a week of cheese, wine and music.

The menu includes:

  • That’s Amore Cheese – balancing savoury and sweet with their traditional cannoli;
  • The Cypriot Kitchen – delighting festival-goers with their fried halloumi chips;
  • 400 Gradi – serving their 154 Cheese Pizza and world’s best Margherita pizza;
  • Frencheese – dishing up their famous raclette; and
  • RIPE – gooey, bitey and funky cheese toasties.

Dairy Produce Hall stallholders will be joining in the fun as Bill’s Farm offer an exclusive Australian Award-Winners Cheese Platter; The Epicurean dish up a Tapas Box and Tapas Skewer; The Corner Larder create a delicious Cheese Showbag (Friday & Saturday evenings only) and the Hellenic Deli will be doing saganaki and pita (Friday & Saturday evenings only).

Cafe Ren will be serving warm cheese croquettes for Festival goers, while the Bratwurst Shop offer a delicious blue cheese sauce accompaniment for the week, and the Corner Chicken Shop dish up buffalo wings in cheese sauce and loaded cheese fries.

If dessert is more your thing, head to Coffea Coffee who will be offering Sfogliatella Napoletana from their Elizabeth Street café; or Geloso Gelateria who will dish up a limited-edition lemon cheesecake gelato from their store in the Market’s F Shed.

Visitors can quench their thirst at the Good-a-Bar with a cheese-themed cocktail – think an Old Fashioned paired with paprika smoked cheddar or a Tom Collins paired with a feta stuffed mini bell pepper. Market bookstore, Books for Cooks will be on-hand in the Dairy Produce Hall to share tips and tricks on how to recreate simple but tasty cheese dishes at home.

Enjoy a range of entertainment across the week, including French inspired musician, Phillipo; Jazz Swing band, Ultrafox Duo; Bossa Nova musician, Jesse Whitney and the Tamara Kuldin Trio.
