Come along to a cultural festival which showcases Portuguese cuisine, music, dance, history, language and tourism.
The Festival unites all the Portuguese speaking communities, including Portugal, Brazil and East Timor, to celebrate historical ties. It caters for all ages with Portuguese and Brazilian street food and beverages available for purchase, Portuguese merchandise for sale, tourism displays, art and photographic exhibition, children’s activities (including face painting, drawing competitions, art and craft), handcrafts demonstrations, Latin and samba dance classes, and a diverse entertainment program of music and dance from Portugal, Brazil and East Timor.
You can savour a Portuguese custard tart, purchase colourful Portuguese ceramics and homewares, dance to Brazilian samba rhythms, make your own Portuguese chorizo, learn about the tourism spots of Portugal or find out where to learn the Portuguese language. It’s a day of fun, food and entertainment Portuguese-style!
Ding Ding! Next stop; the Taste of Portugal festival at Queen Vic Market. It’s easy to catch a tram, just jump on Yarra Trams route 19, 57, 58 or 59 which stop right outside the Market and depart as often as every 5 minutes.
