The policy also outlines how individuals can correct their personal information which is held by QVM, how to make a complaint about a breach of privacy, and how complaints will be handled.
As a general principle, no information gathered on customers is to be used other than for the express purpose for which it was gathered and under no circumstances are third parties to be granted access to the personal details of customers.
Requests for Access to Personal Information by a third party:
In some circumstances, a third party may be entitled to access a customer’s file.
Such requests should be in writing on the party’s letterhead and addressed to the Privacy Officer.
Requests for Access to Personal Information by an individual:
Persons are entitled to request copies of information held on them by Queen Victoria Market. If someone wishes to request access to their personal information, they must complete a “Request for Access to Personal Information” form (copy attached). These requests should also be accompanies by the standard complaint form and recorded in the complaint register.
The Privacy Officer handles requests for access to personal information and will determine whether to grant the request. It is not a given that because someone requests access to their personal information that this will be granted.
Depending upon the nature of the request, there may also be a fee for accessing information.
Preparation of Forms/collecting personal information:
All forms used for collecting information of stallholders, tenants or customers must contain a collection statement. When preparing such forms you must consult with the Privacy Officer on the inclusion and wording of the collection statement.

This site uses secure credit card facilities provided by a third party provider. All online sales are handled securely by the National Australia Bank’s e-commerce gateway. Further information on the privacy and security policies for this organisation is available on its website. Queen Victoria Market does not collect or store any cardholder account data.
