To ensure a safe, enjoyable and inclusive experience for everyone at the Queen Victoria Market, the following Conditions of Entry apply when visiting the Market.
- Patrons must conduct themselves respectfully and must not engage in behaviour that is dangerous, unsafe, offensive, or disruptive.
- Patrons must at all times comply with all lawful and reasonable directions of Queen Victoria Market Pty Ltd (QVMPL) staff and authorised personnel.
- QVMPL may implement temporary access controls or directional signage to ensure public safety or facilitate Market operations.
- Patrons must follow any entry, access, or circulation requirements where these are implemented for operational or safety reasons.
- Children under 12 years of age must at all times be supervised by a responsible adult while in the Market.
- For the safety and comfort of all patrons, the following items or activities are prohibited within the Market:
(a) Items that may cause harm, injury, or nuisance, or otherwise compromise public safety, as reasonably determined by QVMPL staff.
(b) Skateboards, bicycles, scooters, rollerblades/roller skates and similar mobility devices, except for mobility aids used by people with disabilities.
(c) Offensive, obscene, or unlawful signage, symbols, images, or messaging. - Patrons may take photographs or videos for personal use, provided they do not obstruct walkways, traders, or operations.
- Tripods, lighting rigs, and other large equipment are not permitted without QVMPL’s prior written approval.
- QVMPL may capture photography or video within the Market for operational, safety or marketing purposes. Patrons entering the Market may be incidentally recorded.
- Only registered assistance animals that are clearly identifiable are permitted within the Market.
- Non-assistance animals are not allowed permitted inside Market buildings and/or the Fruit and Vegetable aisles.
- Smoking and vaping are prohibited in the Market and must only occur in permitted areas.
- The Market is fitted with CCTV and other security measures. Patrons may be recorded for safety, security, and operational purposes.
- QVMPL reserves the right to involve Victoria Police or other authorities when required for safety or legal compliance.
- QVMPL may refuse entry to, or require the immediate departure of, any individual who:
(a) Fails to comply with these Conditions of Entry;
(b) Engages in unsafe, unlawful, or disruptive conduct; or
(c) Fails to comply with reasonable directions from QVMPL staff or authorised personnel. - Patrons enter the Market at their own risk.
- QVMPL is not liable for loss, damage, or injury suffered by patrons to the extent permitted under applicable law.
