What’s on in September at Queen Vic Market
Spring has sprung and we’ve got loads of fun things for you to check out this month! The September events’ calendar kicks off with our Hawker 88 Night Market mid-month, which is home to mouth-watering Asian street food. In September we’re celebrating all things Ukrainian and African with two colourful festivals – plus the Melbourne Book Market continues.

Discover a rotating line-up of delicious street foodie favourites, including Drums Sri Lankan cuisine, Canadian hot dogs, porchetta rolls, traditional paella from El Rincon and more.
Melbourne Book Market
Every Sunday in September
The Melbourne Book Market is a curated collection of more than 5000 new and pre-loved titles. Peruse literature, history, gardening, travel, art and kids’ books plus a selection of quality second-hand vinyl records and CDs.
September 15, 9am–4pm
This free September event showcases an extensive entertainment program inclusive of yummy street-eats, dance demonstrations and even traditional Ukrainian egg painting. There will be a pop-up Cossack themed bar plus a range specialty shopping stalls selling authentic arts and crafts and much more.
Hawker 88 Night Market
Wednesday nights from September 18, 5pm–10pm
The Hawker 88 Night Market brings the sights, sounds and tastes of Asia to Queen Vic Market this spring. Feast on authentic Asian street food from Thailand to Japan, Vietnam to Korea, and Malaysia to Sri Lanka. Meet friends, shop for the weird and wonderful, and enjoy live music and cultural celebrations with a different theme each week.
Sunday 22, 9am–4pm
Experience African culture through food, flavours, tastes, entertainment and arts & crafts. Queen Street will come alive with vendors selling unique flavours from all over Africa. We’ve also got loads of fun activities for kids and entertainment that will see you humming, swaying and dancing all afternoon.
