Applewood is not smoked but is instead treated with a mild smoke flavouring. This semi firm cheese is then coated with mild paprika, giving it a golden-amber appearance with a bite of spice and a subtle smokey flavour. None of that burnt aftertaste you might find in other smoked cheese! And it looks great on your cheese platter as well as bringing a new slightly smokey dimension to any dish you might use cheddar in.
