Origin: Victoria
Traditional Indonesian-style high protein food made from partially cooked fermented soybean using a fungus (Rhizopus oligosporus). This fermentation helps break down phytic acid in soybeans and makes the starches in tempeh easier to digest. After fermentation, it is pressed into a slab, cooked, and sliced into stir-fries or can be used as a base for making veggie burgers/patties.
Available in three flavors: plain, tamari & ginger, and garlic turmeric & coriander.
