Melbourne Book Market

One of Melbourne’s most beloved book markets comes to the Market.

Melbourne Book Market is a curated collection of more than 5,000 new and pre-loved titles selected and presented by 15 of Melbourne’s most experienced booksellers as well as authors, illustrators and book creators.

Peruse literature, history, gardening, travel, art and kids books, plus an array of quality second-hand vinyl records and CDs.

The 15 founding members will have their own stalls at the Market every Sunday, presenting up to 20 pop up stalls at the Melbourne Book Market.

    Novels, poetry, biographies and rare publications.
  • Rumble Records – an eclectic collection of secondhand books and records.
    Hardbacks, paperbacks and collectables.

    Specialising in fiction, Australiana and 1st editions.
  • Bygone Books – Rare and collectable vintage books
    Including many children’s classics

There will be live acoustic music from local Melbourne artists each week and demonstrations by picture book illustrators.

On Sunday July 21 the Books Illustrated stand will be celebrating the anniversary of the Moon Landing, with two new children’s picture books including, Touch the Moon written by Phil Cummings, illustrated by Coral Tulloch & Moon Walkers written by Mark Greenwood, illustrated by Terry Denton. Both Coral and Terry will be at the Books Illustrated stand from 11am – 1pm.

Coral Tulloch has illustrated over sixty fiction and non-fiction books for children, in Australia and internationally, with her book Antarctica, The Heart of the World, winning the 2004 Environment Award for Children’s Literature.

Terry Denton has been creating children’s books for over 30 years and has worked with many of Australia’s top authors, written much-loved picture books and junior fiction novels and won more than 40 children’s choice awards. The 13 Storey Treehouse series created with Andy Griffiths are best sellers. The eagerly awaited 117 Storey Treehouse book will be released on 23 July, and you can have a sneak preview on Sunday 21 July and order a personally signed copy!
