There is so much going on this Christmas:
Santa Visits | Thursday 19 December – Tuesday 24 December, 10am – 2pm
Santa will pull up his sleigh and visit the Market, roaming the historic sheds with his trusty elf friend to wish market-goers a happy Christmas. Bring the kids along to say hi and put in their final wish lists.
Christmas Decorations
Marvel at the enchanting new additions, including festive garlands gracefully adorning centreway and beautiful new chandeliers casting a warm glow throughout the Dairy Hall. Around Elizabeth and Victoria Streets, spectacular large garlands, while the Queen’s Food Hall sparkles with the gentle twinkle of fairy lights.
At the heart of our celebrations stands the iconic Christmas tree, making its grand return alongside the beloved Santa Chair – both refreshed with an exciting new color scheme and story.
Christmas CRFT*WRK Melbourne Craft Fair | Saturday 7 December, 9am – 4pm, C-D Shed
The historic meets the cutting edge at CRFT* WRK, a celebration of contemporary locally-made craft under the iconic open-air sheds at the Queen Victoria Market. Curated by the team behind The Rose St. Artists’ Market, explore CRFT* WRK for a special Christmas market on the 7 December, featuring art, ceramics, jewellery, embroidery, macramé, ethical textiles, homewares, artisan perfume, dog accessories and lots more.
Pasko Sa Melbourne | Sunday 8 December, 9am – 4pm, C-D Shed
Celebrate Christmas, Filipino-style, at Pasko sa Melbourne at Queen Victoria Market! This vibrant, free event invites everyone to enjoy a day of festive fun with parol (Christmas lantern) making, balloon twisting workshops, a Christmas parade, Santa Claus gift distribution, parlour games, live performances, multicultural food, and more. Entrepreneurs from all cultures will also showcase their products, making it a joyful day for the whole community.
Summer Night Market | Every Wednesday in December (excluding 25 December).
Grab your family and friends and get down to the Market for an unforgettable night of shopping, eating, drinking, live music, fun and summer sunset vibes. Each week, the Market will burst to life with delicious street food, shopping, refreshing cocktails and mocktails. Plus enjoy the sounds of live music and roving entertainment while soaking up the summer atmosphere.
