Native Favourites Tea Pack

All of our favourite Australian native teas in one neat little package! Each tea sample has enough to make ten cups so you’ll be a native tea connoisseur by the time you need to restock.

In this pack you will find:

Rivermint – Rivermint is a native mint that gets its name from (you guessed it!) growing around rivers, creek beds, and damp forests. It’s commonly found in Victoria and South Eastern Australia. Ours is organically grown and sustainably cultivated in the Riverland region of South Australia. It tastes like sweet spearmint with a touch of pepper. You can drink this as a tea (other than the delightful taste, some people drink it to soothe an upset stomach or to ease cold symptoms) but you can also incorporate it into your cooking!

Native Lemongrass – Also cultivated by our friends at Pundi Produce in the Riverland region, Native Lemongrass has a lovely sherbety citrus flavour, excellent hot or iced. It’s traditionally used in Aboriginal medicine to treat cold and flu symptoms.

Waltzinger – Native Lemongrass – with a little extra zing! We’ve added Rosella (a native hibiscus) to add a wonderful tartness and the perfect summer drink (though don’t let it stop you from having a hot one in winter).

Waltzing Myrtle – One of our dreams has always been to have a tea made up of entirely native ingredients, sourced entirely from local businesses. Over the last 10 years we have watched small businesses trading in indigenous plants grow to the point where we can now reliably use them to produce this lovely, native tea: “Waltzing Myrtle”.

Ingredients: Lemon myrtle, cinnamon myrtle, aniseed myrtle, mountain pepper leaf and berry, rosella.

Jilungin  – Jilungin is a bush tea native to the Dampier Peninsula, north of Broome. It is wild harvested by the Nyul Nyul people then sun dried in sacks on a wooden platform (which doubles as a star gazing platform) The tea contains the leaf, stem and bark so that all the properties of the plant stay in the tea.

Traditionally this is an evening tea.  Drinking before bedtime promotes a beautiful, restful sleep.

Crush the leaves and stems and and steep for at least 5 minutes.  It has a deep earthy flavour.
