Holey Cheese Festival returns to the Queen Vic Market
A festival dedicated to cheese is coming to Queen Victoria Market next month

The Queen Victoria Market will take Melburnians to cheese heaven from Tuesday 22 October to Sunday 27 October 2019 when the Holey Cheese Festival returns to the Market for a second year.
Walk the terrazzo floor of the Market’s iconic Dairy Produce Hall and indulge in some of the best hard, soft, blue, white, fresh and aged rinds before stocking up for your next wine and cheese night.
Cheese-lovers will be able to sample, taste and purchase a wide range of varieties while Market traders share their knowledge and passion for Parmesan, Gorgonzola and everything in between.
The Market’s Deli Lane (located next to the Dairy Produce Hall) will be transformed into a gooey paradise with some of Melbourne’s cheesiest traders setting up pop-up stalls for the week. On the menu will be:
- That’s Amore Cheese – balancing savoury and sweet with their traditional cannoli;
- The Cypriot Kitchen – delighting festival-goers with their fried halloumi chips;
- 400 Gradi – serving their award-winning Margherita pizza; and
- Frencheese – dishing up their famous raclette.
To round off the cheesy celebration, visitors can quench their thirst at the Good-a-Bar with a cheese-themed cocktail – think an Old Fashioned paired with smoked Gouda. Market bookstore owner, Tim White from Books for Cooks will share his tips and tricks on how to recreate simple but tasty cheese dishes at home.
